Entry Level Staff Accountant |
|
KFMR seeks upcoming or recent graduates with strong academic background in accounting, tax or related subject and a desire to enter public accounting to fill entry level positions. This individual will work with senior staff in the preparation of accounting and assurance services and tax compliance. Employment typically commences in the Summer.
Duties and Responsibilities:
With respect to accounting and auditing engagements:
- Become familiar with pronouncements of the FASB, AICPA, and where applicable, government accounting and auditing standards.
- Become proficient at preparing financial statements.
- Obtain exposure to the various types of financial statement engagements.
- Assume responsibility for unaudited financial statement engagements and segments of audits and other accounting services engagements under the supervision of more experienced staff.
With respect to tax engagements:
- Become familiar with pertinent IRC sections and regulations.
- Obtain a working knowledge of research techniques and various research sources in the Firm.
- Become proficient in the preparation of corporate, individual, partnership,and other tax returns prepared by the firm.
- Assume responsibility for the preparation and completion of tax returns under the supervision of more experienced staff.
- Begin to develop a knowledge of tax research including a knowledge of the reference sources available to the Firm.
Credentials & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related subject
- 3.25 GPA or higher preferred
